PSG rest Dembélé and Nuno Mendes ahead of Champions League clash
Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes were given extra rest following an agreement with the coach and Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting management. The club wants both players at full strength for the Champions League game against Manchester City at the Etihad on Wednesday, 14 October.
The two players resumed training over the weekend of 10-11 October, meaning they missed Saturday’s home league game against newly promoted Le Mans. The decision was made to ensure they are available for the big clash in Manchester.
It is the second time this season PSG have given Dembélé extra rest. On 28 August, the forward missed the 2-2 draw away at Lille in the second round of Ligue 1.
In the 2026/27 season, the 29-year-old Dembélé has made seven appearances for the Parisians in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists. Mendes, 24, has played five games.
